About Us

Lighthouse Ministries is a multi-faceted ministry reaching out to families in need. The primary function of the ministry is to provide solutions to crises situations within the family. We deal with a broad range of behavioral problems including: alcohol, drugs, self-mutilation, eating disorders, runaways, sexual immorality, defiance, juvenile delinquency, gang affiliation, and rebellion to authority. Lighthouse Ministries functions in a boarding school environment for girls ages 10 to 18.

We know that a teenager must be challenged, but not overwhelmed. Our well-defined programs of academics, spiritual leadership, physical, and recreational activities are sensitive enough to meet specific needs and are designed to stimulate individual growth. Our goal is to develop young ladies sound of mind, spirit, and body, who are prepared for the ever changing world beyond school. We emphasize character development. We stress a well-rounded education that encompasses the teaching of a strong Christian heritage. Our students gain exposure to an understanding of the free enterprise system and of the Constitution of the United States, which was built upon Biblical principles.

The entire program is designed to help each individual develop her God-given abilities as a leader - spiritually, morally, academically, and socially.

In order to build confidence and self-respect, we immerse each young lady into a structured campus lifestyle where she can:

1. Establish strong Christian values.

2. Strengthen academic fundamentals.

3. Develop positive self-worth.

4. Experience a sense of success.

5. Be challenged to reach toward new heights.

We know that success is most easily achieved within a caring and understanding Christian environment. We are committed to constant reinforcement and loving concern for each young lady. As you know the nurse practice act is pretty strict and nurses can not be independent practitioners. How-ever a nurse can provide basic bedside care bathing dressing changes etc. and teach family care givers how to do the same. Sit with patients to give family caregivers a much needed break. Preform basic non-invasive task like blood pressure checks. Help families communicate more effectivly with physicians. As a nurse I am not focused as much on cure as I am on care. Often if medicine can\'t fix something it abandons it. Only the blood and living word of Yahshua has the cure for what ailes human beings on all levels. I have found in caring for the body patients have opened up and revealed their inner beings to me often revealing for the first time what is really wrong. ie the cancer pt, who is more ate up with anger resentment ofr grief than he is with cancer. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, I find it no wonder that we as a culture put our hope in anything and everything BUT the blood of Yahshua :we are seeing heart disease as our number one killer.

If their are any physicians in my area who would partner with a nurse to provide some free services to patients it would allow me to do more,as the nurse practice act is pretty open if you are under the direction of a MD. Many folks need hospice type care and insurances don\'t always pay. It is a fact that if you are recieving hospice care and don\'t die fast enough insurance will quit paying for your hospice..leaving the entire burden is on the family. Talk about putting YHWH in a box. What if he is working a healing,of some nature.

But briefly, I offer full care assisted living short of administering meds, which my state forbids to assisted living arrangements. Mine is a non-traditional Nazarene Yisraelite Torah based housing arrangement and could not be licensed in MI as hospice or foster care. But Yahweh has given me the gift of caring.

This is a service that has been long in coming. I myself have. I have been doing assisted living for family and friends for the past 10 years; as a result I remodeled my home into 3 apts. There are now two vacancies. One will be ready approximately July 3 and the other about one month later. I have borrowed the money to make sure they are comfortable and safe. They both adjoin my apt. And we can eat together, or if they are able and want to they can cook and entertain, as their apartment will be treated the same as any other apt. but with 24/7 assistance available, on site.
